New Menu at LIMA.

USP….USP is what, in this time of crazy competition of eateries in the city, makes a place stand out and work in the long run. Take any successful restaurant in the city. There is one exclusive thing about it that has made it successful!

The USP of LIMA is that, even as of today, it remains to be a standalone eatery in the city serving South American food.

The brain child of the risk taking chef – Atul Kocchar gave rise to LIMA which boasts of serving some authentic South American food. Given that no one has dared to try South American food in the city before this it was a big risk taken and well, it has managed to pay off! I mean, it was buzzing with people on a week night!

LIMA has recently launched a NEW MENU, offering exciting new flavours from Latin America developed by Chef Kochhar and Chef Jerry Thomas which I visited to try out.

Before I talk about what I had, I must say that the crispy Tortilla Chips served with 3 dips at every table are so bloody good! I give you an open challenge to not munch on them! None of us could!

Out of the vast variety of food that I tried, my pick of the night…or every night, has to be the gorgeous Ceviche Classico. This Sea Bass Ceviche was perfection in a plate in terms or texture, taste and everything else.

Another thing I absolutely loved was the Chicken Quesadilla which was nice, crisp and cheesy.

They have also launched some delicious  Burritos and Chimichangas which you must try.

Also making a fabulous appearance was the  Esquites – a buttery sweet corn broth with sour cream which was an absolute delight to sip on!

The Chorizo Molletes – smoked and cured Chorizo, refried beans and avocado and the Tinga Chicken Tostadas lacked any kind of conviction with respect to what they are priced at and are totally avoidable.

The delicious food can be paired with some great cocktails out of which my pick had to be the Strawberry & Basil Margarita.

All in all, barring a few misses, the new menu at LIMA matches up to the reputation of this place and you must definitely try it out. There is something for everyone at the table to love!

Until next time…
