Situated inside the very prestigious and Shalimar Hotel, District Lounge has been newly revamped and it has somehow, inspite of the upgrade, managed to maintain its very classic charm which I loved!
In this era of complicated menus and over doing stuff, District Lounge has kept its menu and appearance very old school and classic and that is its biggest USP.
Both their cocktails and mocktails are very basic but are made with some great finesse. The So Berry Mocktail I had in particular was pleasantly refreshing!
The Vermicilli Fish Fingers and the Chilli Chicken were both absolutely delicious and are must haves from the appetizers. The Tandoori Prawns, though perfect in flavors, were a tad bit dry for my liking.
The very well-known Butter Chicken here is absolutely to die for and is totally worth every recommendation that people have been making for this over the years! The Dum Ghost Biryani too is moist and flavorful and too delicious!
The Spaghetti Bolognese and the Grilled Basa were both really good too but if given a choice, I would definitely prefer the Indian food to these!
The Malai Kulfi here is the perfect and almost poetic end to a fabulous meal and will take you back to your childhood in the most special way.
All in all, with some heartwarming food and service at really reasonable rates, this place is a perfect option for a good meal when you are in the area!
