We never really are appreciative enough of the boon that is “Change”! Imagine a world where everything you eat is same…..horrible scenario right?
Well, keeping in mind this necessity of change and revamp, one of the post popular places in the city – Dishkiyaoon has totally transformed their food and drink menu and has introduced stuff that will definitely blow your mind!
The cocktails at Dishkiyaoon are something I have looked forward to in all my visits. To be honest, I was a little upset about the fact that they are changing their amazing cocktail menu, but all my apprehension was killed when I tried some of their new cocktails! The Watermelon Caprioska, though a classic, had a very Dishkiyaoon twist to it and you must definitely try this one if you love watermelons like I do! They also have a fab Orange and Basil Cocktail (the name of which you will need to ask the server :P)
Soups are something I avoid having at a place where I am drinking. But the Yenna Rascalla (South Indian Shorba) and the Mushroom Shorba were both wholesome and absolutely delicious!
A lot of chefs try very different things with the recently famous – Burratta! Dishkiyaoon treats it in its best form – the natural form, without doing too much with it! The fantastic cheese with the green fresh rocket lettuce and the pahadi wild mushrooms being the cherry on the cake (literally:P) comes together in a dish that screams of the efficiency of the chef at Dishkiyaoon!
The Kardi Pao however was the dish of the night for me! Great quality of prawns in the most fabulous goan masala layered between a fresh garlic bread! This one is a must try for all the sea food lovers!
The Lamb Scamorza Seekh, though great in terms of its flavors was a little dry for me.
The Potli Fish is a must have if you are a fish lover and if you are not one, this will definitely make you into one! The choicest piece of Surmai (Kingfish) in a subtle and tangy masala covered with parchment paper! This is brilliance and magic in one dish!
The Ghar Ki Murgi Dal Barabar is a great limbo between Chicken Curry and Dal and is absolute comfort food!
The Prawns Biryani is more like a pulao which needs no masala! Great quality of prawns and great flavors and aroma in the rice!
The vegetarians must absolutely try the Paneer Stroganoff . The Wild Mushroom Pulao was dry and avoidable.
Both the new desserts I tried – Old Monk Chocolate Mousse and the Croissant Baklava are great in their own way and your choice depends upon what you love more – Old Monk or Baklava!
All in all, Dishkiyaaon has managed to surpass an already illustrious reputation that it has managed to create in the city and you are going to be elated with their new menu!
Go and try it now!
Until next time….
